Cheap Quad Core AMD and Intel Servers

I was wondering about what it would cost to buy an inexpensive server class quad-core system. The requirements were to have a relatively energy efficient server class (Xeon, Opteron) quad-core processor combined with a barebones server with at least 4 hot-swap sata bays.
AMD
- Socket F (Dual) = $1090
- AMD Opteron 2350 (2.0GHz, Socket F, 75W, Barcelona) - $250
- Supermicro AS-1021M-T2+V - $840
- Socket AM2 = $1120
- AMD Opteron 1352 (2.1GHz, Socket AM2, 75W, Barcelona) - $230
- Supermicro A+ Server 1011M-URV / 1011M-URB - $890
- Notes
- I have not yet found a Tyan or ASUS barebones system that supports the Opteron 1352.
Intel
- Socket 771 (Dual) = $980
- Intel Xeon E5405 (2.0GHz, LGA 771, 80W, Harpertown) - $240
- ASUS RS160-E5/PA4 - $740
- Socket 775 = $770
- Intel Xeon X3220 (2.4GHz, LGA 775, 105W (b3) or 95W (g0), Kentsfield) - $220
- ASUS RS120-E5/PA4 - $550
- Notes
- ASUS seems to have the most cost effective barebones Intel systems.
- One could save $50 or so by replacing the Intel Xeon X3220 with an Intel Q6600 which is the same chip.
